What EA SPORTS FC 27 is and why players look for cheats

EA SPORTS FC 27 cheats are one of the most searched extras for the new season of EA's football sim. Ultimate Team pays you for wins, and wins are hard to come by. FC 27 is the latest entry in the series that was called FIFA until 2023, when EA moved it to the EA SPORTS FC brand. The game is developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania on the Frostbite engine and published by Electronic Arts under the EA SPORTS label.

The worldwide release came on September 25, with early access from September 18 for owners of the Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions and a trial through EA Play. South Korea got the game on October 2, and Thailand, Vietnam and China later still. Kylian Mbappé is on every cover, and the Ultimate Plus edition adds Jude Bellingham next to him. Mbappé also appears inside the game as one of the mentors in The Grounds.

The licence list is as long as ever: more than 21,000 players, over 800 clubs and national teams, 35+ leagues and well over 130 stadiums, including the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga and women's competitions. On PC you can buy FC 27 on Steam, the EA app and the Epic Games Store. It needs DirectX 12, about 100 GB of disk space and a broadband connection. The minimum spec targets 720p at 60 FPS, the recommended spec 1080p at 60 FPS, so most gaming PCs from the last few years run it without trouble.

• Draft: online and single-player drafts of up to 4 matches. Entry costs 15,000 coins, 300 FC Points or a Draft Token.
• Rush: 3v3 matches with up to four friends, Rush Points for matches and objectives, plus weekly goals.

There is more to collect in FUT this year. FUT Gallery has more than 100 collectible sets at launch, Holographic Items are a new card type, and there is a Hall of FUT category. Base ICONs start at 88 OVR, the Common/Rare split for packs is gone, and chemistry is tighter: ICONs give +1 to nation instead of +2, Heroes +1 to league instead of +2. Evolutions drop less often, while Training Camp Evolutions were expanded. Season Points per match range from 15 to 100 with a daily cap of 850, and Season 1 runs from September 17 to October 22.

Career mode got its biggest rework in years. Transfers now go through several stages with hijacks and counter offers, and player values come from TransferRoom's Expected Transfer Value model. You can negotiate instalments, bonuses, loans with buy-back clauses and player swaps. Dynamic OVR moves ratings up and down based on form, morale, fitness, injuries and playing time, and it applies to AI clubs as well. Six Growth Profiles shape how young players develop.

The Grounds is the new social open-world hub and the headline feature of this year's game. It has three districts built around football culture in the UK (Parkside), France (Montclair) and Argentina (Zeiza). You create your own player and develop them with mentors including Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala and Alex Hunter. There are street matches in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3, mini-games that mix football with dodgeball, basketball or bocce, and a competitive side with stadiums, club leagues and playoffs. Up to 100 players can share one space. Progression runs on Archetypes with rotating Amps, and PlayStyle+ is not available at launch. EA says all clothing can be earned with in-game currency, but cosmetics are also on sale, and the pace of progression is one of the most common complaints.

Clubs did not go anywhere. It now lives inside The Grounds, in its own building near the spawn point, still as 11v11, and it opened with the Classic Stadium 11v11 Club Tournament. Kick-Off is there for quick matches as usual, and Career covers both manager and player paths.

What changed on the pitch this season

Gameplay in FC 27 leans hard toward manual control. Keep that in mind if you are thinking about any tool that touches matches. On competitive settings, AI defenders no longer step into tackles on their own. They wait until you switch to them and make the call yourself, so defending is now a real skill test rather than something the game quietly does for you. A large share of negative Steam reviews complain about exactly this.

Attackers got some new tools too. Off-balance dribbling lets a player with the right attributes keep the ball after a shoulder barge, even while stumbling. Corners and crosses were rebuilt as dynamic corners, through balls and set pieces were reworked, and attacking awareness was improved, so runs off the ball look more sensible than before.

PlayStyles were cut back. The maximum number of PlayStyle+ on a card dropped from 5 to 3, and ten styles were weakened: Finesse Shot, Technical Dribbler, Intercept, Rapid, Quick Step, Pinged Pass, Tiki Taka, Jockey, Precision Header and Low Driven. No new PlayStyles were added, which means base attributes decide more than they used to. In practice, the meta moved away from "who packed the best card" toward "who reads the game better". So knowing your opponent in advance and controlling the conditions of a match count for more than they did.

How many people play FC 27 on PC

EA has not published sales figures for FC 27 yet. What we do have is Steam data. The launch peak was 95,985 concurrent players, the weakest start for the series on Steam: FC 26 opened at 100,283 and later climbed to 160,728 in July, while FC 25 started at 110,026. Keep in mind that Steam does not count consoles, the EA app or Epic, and most of the audience plays on PlayStation and Xbox anyway.

Even so, FC 27 topped the Steam sales chart in its launch week. User reviews sit at Mixed, around 57% positive. Players call it an expensive roster update and point at passing, manual defending, bugs and monetisation in The Grounds. Critics were kinder: Metacritic sits around 75 to 76, with 76 for the PS5 version. For a sense of scale, FC 26 reportedly had around 9.8 million daily players, though that number comes from a developer quote retold by a YouTuber and is not official.

The FUT cheat scene exists because of a huge audience and a grind that rewards wins. On the official EA forums PC players openly complain about opponents in Rivals and Champions running trainers, and in FC 25 there was a loud discussion about "hackers" who cut their opponent's sprint speed mid-match. EA Javelin Anticheat and how bans happen in FC 27

On PC, FC 27 runs under EA Javelin Anticheat, also called EA AntiCheat or EAAC. It works at kernel level, starts with the game, shuts down when you close it and stays active both online and offline, including single-player modes. It requires Windows 10 20H1 (build 19041) or newer. Ultimate Team is online-only, so every FUT session is played with the anticheat running and a live connection to EA's servers.

EA's own numbers on Javelin, published in September, list 26.7 million prevented cheating attempts, detection accuracy above 99%, a false ban rate under 1% and 20 protected games. FC is not singled out in that report. Some EA titles require Secure Boot, Battlefield 6 being the obvious example, but EA has not confirmed that FC 27 needs it, so check your own system rather than trusting forum rumours.

For FUT players the bigger threat is not always the anticheat itself. EA regularly bans accounts in waves, mostly over transfer market activity. The best-known wave hit during the Winter Wildcards promo in FC 26: accounts were banned for "coin distribution", and some players who simply sold cards at high prices got caught as well. Players suspect the same approach catches users of third-party browser extensions that autofill SBCs, and the EA forums have threads full of false ban complaints. EA has not announced a ban wave aimed at trainers in FC 27, but nothing stops one from happening.

A squad of 99-rated bots in every Grounds match is far more likely to draw reports from other players than an occasional XP boost. Treat the trainer as an assistant for the grind, not as a way to win every single game by ten goals.

Installing the FC 27 mod menu on PC

The trainer runs only on PC. It supports all three PC versions of the game (Steam, the EA app and the Epic Games Store) on Windows 10 or Windows 11. There is no console version. Setup takes a few minutes:
