The anticheat has not changed: ACE by Tencent, kernel level, driver ACE-BASE.sys active in the system at all times.
Why the January wave hit DMA so hard
The ratio in those numbers matters more than the absolute count. There are far fewer DMA owners in the player base than people running ordinary private software: you need a board, a second computer and the patience to deal with firmware. And they still accounted for almost three quarters of everything the anticheat caught on PC during the wave. The category that should have hidden from the statistics better than any other, going by the "there is nothing to scan" logic, came out on top of the report.
The G.T.I. Security summaries we rely on show the same thing broken down by rank: the higher the rank of a punished account, the better the odds that hardware or a driver sat behind it. That is the reverse of what usually gets sold alongside a DMA board. The seller's logic sounds convincing enough: no foreign process runs on the gaming machine, so there is nothing to scan. Trouble is, process scanning is one layer of the defense, and nowhere near the main one.
How hardware memory reading is put together
An FPGA board goes into a PCIe slot and reads the gaming computer's RAM directly, skipping the operating system. Structure parsing, ESP drawing and all the logic live on a second computer that has nothing to do with the game. On the machine running Delta Force no foreign process starts and no foreign driver loads. The hardware stopped being exotic a long time ago, and boards sometimes go for under 200 dollars.
The scheme works technically, and we are not arguing with that. In another game we do stock it, more on that below. The question is what exactly it protects you from. Hardware reading strips the software traces on the gaming PC side. Everything ACE does beyond that stays exactly where it was.
What ACE looks at besides the process list
Kernel level is not a marketing line in the description here. ACE-BASE.sys gets into the system before the game and on equal footing with it, so the anticheat has several sources of information at once, and they do not depend on each other. Software signs are processes, drivers, attempts to read memory from inside the system. Next comes the hardware fingerprint: processor identifiers, GPU data, storage serial numbers. On top of that sits the read on how an account behaves in matches. Last on the list are reports from live players in the same lobby, and buyers rarely think about those at all.
DMA removes only the first of those sources. The hardware fingerprint is collected from the very machine whose slot holds the board, and the list of devices on the PCIe bus reads from kernel level the same way everything else does. Even when the specific board goes unrecognized, the hardware fingerprint stays tied to the machine: take a ban and you lose the computer, not the account. Behavior in a match shows without any drivers
The clearest scenario in this game is Mandelbrick. A squad picks up the cargo, carries it to the Decoding Site and holds the point for four minutes, and the squad's position is revealed to the whole map the entire time. For those four minutes half the lobby is watching you, and watching closely, because everyone is after the same thing. If the crosshair snaps onto heads at a uniform speed with no reaction delay, that is visible from someone else's screen rather than in anticheat logs. Reports follow, and the account review starts from those.
Hardware memory reading hides the code, but it does not hide the player. The difference sounds like nitpicking until you look at the January wave numbers, where high-rank accounts got punished more often than the rest. The higher the rank, the more the people around you can tell a rehearsed trajectory from a live hand, and the more often they look at you on purpose.
The penalty here runs ten years
Delta Force hands out ten-year bans for cheating, and that flips the whole risk arithmetic. In a game that bans for a week, a hardware kit reads as a bet: if you avoid detection, great, and if you do not, you sit the ban out. Here the bet is placed against a term that will outlive the current season and the game's own relevance. The DMA investment adds up like any other: the board, the second machine, firmware for a specific anticheat, hours of setup. And all of it goes up against a ten-year term in a game where wave statistics point at this exact category. The numbers did not add up for us, which is why no such listing ever appeared in the Delta Force section.
We do stock DMA for ARC Raiders, and that is no contradiction
The distinction is honest: different game, different anticheat, different cost of a mistake. In Delta Force not one of those conditions falls on the side of the hardware route. The penalty term is an order of magnitude longer, the anticheat works at kernel level and ties the ban to your hardware, and fresh wave statistics point at this category of software. We would rather not stock a product whose disclaimer would run longer than its description.

Ask about the January numbers. A sane answer sounds like "here are our terms, and here is what we do not guarantee". A promise of total invulnerability after a wave in which DMA produced 72% of the violations recorded on PC means one of two things: the seller does not follow the game, or is counting on you not following it. The second question is just as useful: what happens to your machine after a ban, and who pays for changing the fingerprint.
What people run for Delta Force instead of DMA

Will a spoofer save you if the ban already happened?
Changing the fingerprint solves access from a banned machine, but it does not undo the penalty on the account itself. A new profile on the same hardware inherits the block, because ACE checks hardware before the account, and this is where a spoofer becomes mandatory.
